Has anyone fitted central locking to a Jaguar mk 7 /8/9
Saloon? I have been offered a set of door actuators/systems
from a Daimler/Jaguar XJ40 and wondered whether they could
be adapted to work. Or can anyone suggest a good after
market kit that would fit.–

Maplin do, or at least did, a kit. Or look on eBay ? I tried
fitting them to a Mk2 but lost patience although I was later
told I was going about it the wrong way and that it can be
done.
Don’t know about the XJ40, but I’d imagine the SIII type
solenoids may be too large to fit in and there may be a
problem with mounting them; at least the aftermarket kits
come with lots of brackets & strips etc. for universal fitting.–
