[Saloon-lovers] Detective Morse

I see in the paper that Detective Morse’s side kick is back on the
TV in Britain with a new series and that he has a side kick of his
own, but the doofus that wrote the article made no mention of what
kind of cars they would be driving.
This is a matter of great concern.

The new series is called “Lewis” and if I recall the only car of interest is in the first show or the first season as Lewis is stepping off a curb he suddenly has to jump back as a MK2 looking quite like Morse’s goes flying by. A nice tip of the hat to Morse. I haven’t seen it yet myself and from what I’ve been told, here in the states, PBS has only shown the first season. Here is a link to “Lewis” on Imdb: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0874608/ I’m looking foward seeing the series myself. I still haven’t been able to watch the last Morse yet but if I remember the book properly wasn’t Morse’s Jaguar left to Lewis? I had hoped when I heard that Lewis was to have his own series that he would be using the MK2 that was left to him.

The programme is truly dire. It is a kind of watered down Morse
with Kevin Whateley as Lewis sounding even more vacuous than he did
in Morse. Don’t waste your time, and even more importantly , your
electricity, on it–

Speaking as a Brit that has seen the new series - ‘Lewis’ I can’t
recall exactly what cars are used but they are failry standard
modern cars and are not keeping up the Inspector Morse tradition of
using a classic.–
