Dear Listers,
My mark IX is running better than it ever has during the 18 years I have
owned it. That’s what a valve grind will do for you!
I need a couple of minor things that I suspect are unavailable.
The switch that is part of the anti creep system. It is mounted on
a bracket from the intake manifold between the carburettors and is
operated by an arm on the throttle shaft. Part Number is: C.7500
The spring under the metering needle in the starting carburettor.
Part Number is: 6956 - AUC1041.
If anyone can help me with these items, I would be most grateful.
Thanks,

The spring for the starting carb is a Burlen Fuel Systems item. It’s shown
in their SU retail price list at 0.81 pounds.
Burlen bought out SU inventory and tooling. They’re located in England, www.burlen.co.uk or email info@burlen.co.uk.
A satisfied customer, no connections.

In reply to a message from Harry Parkinson sent Thu 30 Jan 2003:
Harry,
You might want to try Joe Curto Inc. in NY at (718) 762-7878 (ask
for Joe). He specialises in SU & Zenith parts/service. I was
referred to him by Terry’s as a last resort in finding the starting
carb pipes I needed. When I called him, he went as far as to have
me measure and fax him the centerline spreads between the pipe
ports on the intake manifold to make sure he provided the right
ones. I had them in hand two days later.
Good luck,
Jacques Burgalat
