[Saloon-lovers] I saw this on craigslist

This seems like a cool car.

If the steering wheel is on the US side, then, that is the Mk X to restore.
Very nice

There was something pretty similar on the Reno Craigslist last
April, I got someone in the local club to buy it, about the same
price, running.
When I see decent and interesting advertisements like that I write
to them and tell them to post an adv on Jag-lovers.org. I tell
them it is free and that western US cars especially have a good
reputation in the rust department.
Engine, transmission and OD, all working, $2,500? Such a deal.

I wish I could but how expensive the transfer here in Italy it
would be…
Hope to find here a good 420G with a better price…

That is so cheap! Wish it was closer to me …

I miss my 420G - concours, deep-pile carpet, walnut,
enormous leather armchairs. I lost it after an argument with
a truck in the middle of the Karoo desert in South Africa.
It sat for a while in a farmer’s field guarded by ostriches
and I eventually bought it back from the salvage company to
save it from being used as a donor for a Cobra replica. I
passed on the last of its mortal remains to a Jag Enthusiast
when I returned to the UK. Some mechanical parts found there
way into my Proteus C-Type so parts of it at least live on.

How much to ship it to the UK - anyone know?–

The cost of shipping half container usually runs around USD
3,000 to USD 6,000 depending on port fees and season, etc.

If you can manage a roll on roll off carrier between
destinations, then you can usually cut the cost in half.–
