Hi Harry Swank (Big H) & all – Harry, your leather sounds like it’s doable
– suffering mainly ftrom lack of oiling via Connolly Hide Food over the
years. Here’s a routine that can help:

(1) Figure on not driving the car while you do this so as not to damage the
currently dry leather.

(2) Rub a thin coat of Hide Food on ALL leather surfaces using a terry
washcloth, let sit at least 1/2 hour (longer if it’s cold), then buff out
with terry towel.

(3) Repeat this process at least daily until the leather starts to soften
(get several jars of Hide Food; you’ll probably need more than one).
Continue doing this until you’re satisfied that the leather IS soft.

(4) From now on, do this process at least every 3 months; it’ll ensure that
the leather says oiled, and thus soft.

(5) For the cracks, contact a good leather supply place; they may have a
product that can fill these cracks – follow their advice (if you can, SHOW
them the cracks by taking the car to the shop). These people may well be
able to help, thus saving you megabucks on new leather.

I hope this helps – good luck & happy holidays – Larry Martz**********
