[Saloon-lovers] MK2 Fan Shroud

I finally got the fan shroud installed on my NEW MK2. I had to remove the
radiator three times before I got the sequence of pully, fan, shroud and
radiator correct. Now I remember why I never replaced the fan shroud back
when I was driving my MK2!

There is a difference, though. The new shroud is thick and silver color
while the old one was flexible and black. The new one also extends further
towards the engine and interferes with the remote radiator drain spigot rod.
There appears to be no way to install the rod at all.

Did the newer MK2’s ('64+) have a different drain tap than the older ones,
with a handle, perhaps?
