Hi,
Can anyone tell me if the front and back windscreen from an S-
type fit a MK2? I think the front would be close if not the same
but the back different.

According to Barratt’s catalog they are all the same.

Fronts are the same, the rears are surely different.

Front S-type is
BD26586 Toughened (earlier cars)
BD26130 Sundym
BD 29575 Laminated (LAter cars)

Rear
BD25087 Clear
BD28240 Sundym
BD25283 Electrically heated
BD 25824 Sundym Electricallyheated.

Compare NOs to the Mk2 which I don’t have

 Mike, have you got an S backlight in your Mk II -

Mk2, S-type and 420 share the same front screen. Mk2 is unique, S-type and
420 share the same rear glass.

If the rear glass is one of the heated ones it is also laminated and it’s
possible to cut it(but dont epect the heating element to work again), not
sure how the shape would match the Mk2 Roof. If made from
Toughened/Tempered glass as most would be, you can’t cut it, it will simply
shatter if you try.

Hello Gael,

The only glass that will fit is the front windscreen. All sideglass of the
Mk2 is defferent from the S/420 glass, as well as the rear screen.
It becomes quite clear if you park the cars side by side: the top curve of
the side glass on the S/420 is much straighter than the Mk2.
