[Saloon-lovers] MkX flooding / MkX gas mileage

Hi Paul, I find that very ocasionally my 420G will flood, I guess it
happens if the manifold temperature cools enough for the otter switch to
kick the starting carb in, but the engine is still slightly warm. If this
happens, I open the bonnet and disconnect the otter switch. Then she starts
OK.
As it happens very rarely, I have not bothered to fit a bypass switch.

As far as fuel economy goes, I can get 21 mpg (imperial) on longer trips
but certainly it is pretty poor around town. (I have never measured it’s
urban cycle) But then I do not really use the G for short trips and it is
far too hard to park in town anyway
