[Saloon-lovers] Need Mark VII for movie in San Francisco 1/21/08

I am in San Francisco working on a Sean Penn movie and we
have a scene that call for a MKVII Saloon sitting in the
driveway of a mansion. The car will not be driven in the
scene but will probably need to be on the set the entire day.
I will insure the vehicle and give you a nice rental check
for the day as well as the coolness factor that goes with
having your car in the movie. I’m not a flake. If you want
you can check me out on IMDB.com
Thanks,

Sean Penn is the kind of director that would put a Mk VII in a
driveway just to catch the eye of People who saw Vertigo. He spent
a week in a jail near here a few years back, interesting fellow.

I wonder how many people actually saw Vertigo in its entirety. I
know I have tried many times, but the bored-to-death factor either
put me to sleep or reminded me to go to the garage to be better
entertained by my S type.

Madonna would have been a great actress to play the blond that
drove the Jag in Vertigo. Pretty, complicated, 1/2 crazy.

Peter,

Wash your mouth out. There’s no way she could come close to
replacing the gorgeous Kim Novak. I found this link and to me the
car looks like a MKVIII or IX. Look at the rear wheelarch. Whatcha
think? It is kinda far away.

Madonna is the only Star who is not an ex-convict like Martha
Stewart, Paris Hilton, etc.

But getting back to the thread, looks like nobody has a MK-7 in San
Francisco.

as a last resort, Diaz can contact the following movie car business
who has a MK-9.

Good luck.

I can’t remember from the movie and the trailer was not designed
for the car fans. All I know to look for is the split front
windshield.
Get these people a Mk Viii, they won’t know the difference.

Peter,

The car in Vertogo looks to me like it’s a MKIII. It has the chrome
side strips and small tail lamps. There’s a good shot early in this
clip.

David,

In our zeal to destroy the character of various actors, I think we forgot
to actually answer your question. Try the local San Francisco Jaguar Club. I
believe the current president is Jerry Nuijen. He’s jnuijen@comcast.net or
try the club web site at www.jags.org. They should be able to put you in
touch with someone with a local vehicle. Tell Jerry I said Hello, I am a
past member of that club.

Sorry but I disagree; Nobody here is/was trying to destroy or
discredit the character of those actors, they already did that by
themselves without any help from us.
