[Saloon-lovers] Negotiating eBay's auto ads

hi frank,

Are the Diamondback or Coker radials wide white walls?

coker is NOT a manufacturer, they just sell tires by a lot of brands, and as
such they carry whatever it’s produced, radials and what-not, white walls,
red walls and black walls

diamondback only sells white wall radials under their own brand, but as far
as I know they source the actual tire somewhere else and only apply the
whitewall… BTW, I’ve heard very good things about them, expecially that
the whitewall won’t turn yellow with time. I’ve got a set for my 1960
Cadillac, but since the car’s in pieces I cannot comment how good the tires
are… I’ve got them for a few years on the rims and indeed they’re still as
white as day one, but alas they saw no use!

hi again,

does anyone know how to conver CCA (cold-crank amperes) to Ah (amp/hour)?

I’m getting a period-looking modern sealed-for-life battery from Antique
Auto Battery… definitely NOT cheap but oh-so-cool-looking!!

http://www.antiqueautobattery.com/g27l.htm

I’d like to know if its 830 CCA is enough to meet the standard MkVII 64Ah? I
assume so, but I’d like to know anyway… and actually I’d assume it to
exceed that by some margin too, just wondering by how much!

thanks!

alright, so all I understood is that there’s no direct relationship between
CCA and Ah, so you cannot convert one into the other…

maybe…

anyway, I trust the battery manufacturer that their battery will be fine!

ciao & thanks

Diego,

THe only cross reference to A/Hours was RC (residual capacity) I
had a look at some manufacturers catalogues and Amp Hours to CCA
ratings are a ratio of 9.1 to 10.8 A/H to CCA. So based on that you
are well in reserve with an equivalent of about 77 A/Hours.

A travesty!! Saved tons of money by not re-chroming all the trim.

That is correct. The standardlead acid batter will have a capacity
of 65 A/H. This is the stndard rating known as C/10 where the
battery will deliver 6.5 A for a period of 10 hours before it
requires a recharge.–
