And Question No 2 on the Pertronix install: Although its
hard to see, it appears the wire from the points to the coil
goes through the side of the distributor through a bolt
arrangement and the coil wire bolts to the outside of the
distributor. The seller recommends installation of new
wires through the side of the distributor with a new
grommet, presumably where the existing bolt arrangement is.
I’d just as soon not pull the distributor, which appears
the only way to do that change out, but I suppose I can use
the old wires as well.
Any thoughts on this? I imagine you guys will tell me to
pull the distributor and do the full wire change out rather
than use the old wires. Any guidance would be appreciated.–
