[Saloon-lovers] The Fast and The Furious

Wikipedia reports:====

The Fast and the Furious is a 1955 movie starring John Ireland and
Dorothy Malone. The black-and-white B-movie was co-directed by the
films leading man, John Ireland. The story was written by Roger
Corman and the screenplay by Jean Howell and Jerome Odlum. Except
for the title, the film bears no relation to the 2001 film of the
same name.

Actually, this is an hour and a half of 1954 XK120 or 140, about
half of which is racing against sports cars of the periods. MGTF,
TR2, one weird Nash, one other Jag, the black one driven by the bad
guy. They are all driving on bias ply tires which increases the
drama tremendously. There are a lot of sports cars of the period
that I could not identify. There is also some plot junk in the
movie, just sit through it.

Great lady owner of the XK that the hero drives.

3 thumbs up.

Happy New Year,
P. Smith
