Sealed beam removal help

On the front of my xj6 are 4 sealed beam headlights. 2 have apparently been replaced and 2 look original to the car.
How do I remove the 2 on the driver side. Does anyone have any helpful removal tips?

Remove the closing panel–firmly grab the lamp unit and with a straight sharp pull it will release from the 3 pockets that hold the pins.

Is the closing panel the metal trim piece that surrounds the lamp?

I figured it out. The closing panel is the body piece that surrounds the lights and is the same color as the car. PhilsProjects

They are NOT sealed beam they have H1 or 3 Halogen bulbs fitted from the rear, if they are foggy and the reflectors dirty Jim Butterworth’s website has a good write up on cleaning. The units can be removed muchas described.

yep, I stand corrected. Just discovered that as I pulled it free. My one lens is chipped all the way through the glass and at $169 (plus shipping) local, I will just have to clear silicone the pinhole in the glass! The other lens is badly pitted. I’ll look at the butterworth link to see if I am capable of cleaning them both. Thanks Phil
