Is it possible to remove the headrests without disassembling the seat back? I mean without using a Sawzall or torch…
I have done it, much easier on an OTS.
I put a bath towel draped over the headrest then 2-handed grabbed under it while it the full down position. You will want to be standing over it to do this.
Then yank sharply up with all your might. You are trying to overcome (or possibly just break) the plastic bit that holds the positions.
The bath towel helps prevent you from launching the headrest into low earth orbit when it lets go.
I case you do not know, there is a plastic plug sold to fill the remaining hole.
