Series2 foot carpets

Can anyone tell me if series2 carpets should be glued or use 4 plastic studs to hold them in place

Thanks

John.

On the S2 cars I have seen, there were jute underpad pieces glued to the perimeter of the footwell and to the bulkhead wall. The piece that fit in the footwell and the carpet were not glued, just pinned in place by the studs.

For a frequent driver it may be better not to glue anything to the floor. Once it is all in place and topped with the usual black rubber floor mat it is not going anywhere.

I have even remove the pad and hardura from under the seats as the seats have to come out to properly dry those (not something I want to do in a motel parking lot).

If the car is not an OTS or if it is only a fair-weather car near home then these practical concessions may be unnecessary.

The carpets themselves are held in place with the black plastic studs. It’s not strictly correct, but I added a 5th near the tunnel on each side to hold that side down.

Thanks for your help.
