Setting door glass frames

I’m installing the chrome side glass door frames while the door gaps are excellent, I can’t say the same about the way the front left and right side frames, they appear to be 6mil. Or 1/4” lower than the rear frames. Since the rear frame are mounted hard to the door and can’t be lowered, my only option is to lift the front by shimming the frame up.
My question to you is, has anyone done that? Is there a source I can use to guide me?

u dont say what vehicle you have, but on my 420G there are washers under the frame to lift it, probably about 1/4" on the front, I am working on the DS door now, also has washers to allow placement inboard/outboard. I suspect people loose them.

check the parts & service manual for mention of these

They used Fibre washers to adjust the frame heights on the small saloons. OD is about 1-1/4"

EDIT: As Ian points out, metal shims at the top to adjust height, the fibre ones at the bottom are to adjust inclination.

Jaguar shimmed them at the factory , with alloy spacers !

They have and that is how mine is done as well on the stype

Thanks Ian, perfect. Gordon

Thanks to you all. The car is a 61 mk2. Very helpful.
