I’m normally on this forum as a MK2 owner, however, a good friend of mine owns an immaculate 2009 X type 2.2 diesel estate. Unfortunately, he has had a collision with a large deer, all be it at low speed, however, it has deformed the front edge of the bonnet & moved the assembly backwards by bending the hinges. The slam or header panel has been forced both backwards by an inch or more as well as upwards. My question is basically is the slam panel replacement a vastly complicated job, ie how much of it is nuts & bolts & how much is structural welding. The owner is a very competent career engineer.
