Spark plugs 2.5 litre mark V

What modern spark plugs are best for my newly rebuilt 2.5 litre Mark V ?

Champion N8 spark plugs and Champion variations like N8L are available on auction sites like ebay. I’ve gathered a lifetime supply of Champion L.10 for my 3 1/2 litre Mark V that way.

This does not answer your question about what “modern spark plugs” to use, but new, but old, spark plugs as specified by the manufacturer have worked well for me and the N.8 gives you an alternative to modern. I would offer such NOS advice much more selectively for Lucas parts.

For example, ebay has a set of 10 NOS Champion N.8 for sale for about $32 US. See eBay item number:182798028054 .

Thank you Roger - noted - a reply from a local suggests Champion L90C as an equivalent. Cheers

Here is the home page.

So it looks like for 2.5 Litre, the original Champion N8 translates to Champion N5C.
For 3.5 Litre the original Champion L10 translates to Champion L90C.

BTW there is a disclaimer at the bottom of that website:
The Spark Plug Cross references are for general reference only. Check for correct application and spec/measurements. Any use of this cross reference is done at the installers risk.

A useful source Wiggles.

Thank you Pete et al Champion L90C would seem to be the choice.

No, its Champion N5C for the 2.5 Litre.

L90C is for the 3.5 Litre.

My 2½ litre SS Jaguar uses the L10. For the 2½ litre Mk4 engines up to P201 and all 3½ litres the L10S was specified. From P201 NA8 was specified and that was later changed to N8. The 3½ litre was later changed from L10S to L10.

The change from the short reach L10 to the long reach N8 was strange as I don’t think there was any change made to the cylinder head regarding the plugs/combustion chamber.

The L10 is rather socketed and if memory serves me correctly the long reach plugs protrude slightly.

What about the 1.5L ?
