My trip computer was the cause of my battery drain. It was also acting weird, flashing, showing all 8’s. Battery would be flat in 3-4 days. No apparent effect on my speedo.
Over the hedge with the trip computer and now the car can sit for 2-3 months with no noticeable battery drain. So I would not be surprised if it could cause other problems.

The saga continues.
Good news/bad news. The trip computer is probably OK since the speedometer dropped out again. Was going about 50, dropped to 0.
I turned around to go home and it popped back on for a second then dropped to 0 and stayed there. Will have to investigate the circuit, damn it.
