Thanks for the memory prompt. After opening the link I do remember that thread. I’d try it except I want the main and trip odometer to be corrected as well.
They offer that as the in line alternative but it won’t work for attachment to the back of the speedometer; that requires a female threaded coupler. I’ve got a further inquiry into them to see if their 1014 unit will work.

John,
when they said “ Almost any input / output configuration of fittings can be made“. I thought that would include female fittings. You could still use the unit if you have a two piece cable, which might not be a bad idea as the weight of the gearbox would not be on the back of the speedo.

True and I’ve got sources for the inline boxes in the states; no reason to incur the extra expense and time of buiying across the pond.
Yes, I found a dud speedo at an auto fleamarket for cheap that had the correct odo gear to calibrate mine. If they were only available to buy. John Holmes was talking about having some 3d printed. I wonder if he ever followed up on that. What TPM is your target?
Anthony
I believe the 3.07s came with a speedometer set up for 1120 turns. That would be close enough, but 1133 would be a bit better.
Okay, for 3.07 1120 is a very common TPM. As I mentioned I easily found a junk Jaeger speedo from a sedan that was marked 1120.
Back when I was working on it I believe had initially contacted this company;

It was a while ago and I don’t remember who I talked to but I seem to recall they offered to look around their shop and scrounge up the proper gear for me. The gear you’re after is not on their website and I wish I could be more definitive on my conversation with them, but I didn’t follow through because I came across the junker 1120 speedo and managed to harvest the gear out of it. If you manage to source the 1120 gear, and you decide to try your hand at re-calibrating your own speedo, I’d be glad to assist. I have since changed the procedure to make it easier to degauss the bar magnet in the speedo.
Good luck
Anthony
Follow up:
Last Wednesday I sent the speedometer cable off to be modified and the ratio adaptor built and installed n the cable. The Postal Service delivered the modified cable today. I’d highly recommend the shop that performed the work. www.deluxespeedometer.com I’ve no affiliation,I’m just a very satisfied customer.
I installed it, put the car back together and it works like a charm.
Whew!!!
Glad to hear they are still the same, good business my Dad began using in the early 50s.
I’d recommend them in a heartbeat.
We went for a drive this afternoon. Quiet effortless cruising at 70 MPH and beyond. The car feels transformed, much more relaxed cruising but still has enough oomph for all but perhaps the most addicted 0-60 guys.
Since the speedo and odometers on the early '69-73 S1 cars separate, fixing the speedo does not correct the odometer. I tried (after installing 2"88 gears since they were not available in the early models) to put in
later S3 speedo and odometer parts in my S1… not successful i getting it working properly ALL the time.
So I put a GPS speedo/odometer into my S1 speedo housing… it is 100% accurate. Speedh
ut will put on different pointer colors (I have since painted mine white), back light colors an you gain lots of other features… 0-60 timer, 1/4 mile timer, altimeter, highest speed since the last reset… It looks really well in the car…Assuming you mean in an XJ6. Were the odometer and speedometer driven by separate cables from the transmission?
Yea: the 3.07 is heaven!
Summina… so THAT’s what happened to Deluxe Speedo!
Dad began using them in the 50s, but after I got outta ‘da bidness,’ I lost track of them.
