does anyone know if you can use a spin of oil filter for the MK IV engine
If so, where can I find this or are there drawings ?

I had one on mine and chucked it . I though tthe principle was flawed. Itstill used the originalseal except that once mounted , that couldn’t be renewed.
elements are easily bought for the original , There was an article in the CJA N%TB about the original canisters and what careless POs had done. Through over tightening [ instead of renewing the aseal , they had popped the bottom of the canister inward and so the long bolt bottoms out before tightening . Which makes the owner try to tighten it even more and a vicious cycle continues.
A register member here made a simple tool that with a garage press simply pushes the canister bottom back into it’s correct shape.
There have also bee issues with spin on oil filters.One in UK causing to run a crank bearing and another [ which seems amusing much later] of an SS bursting the spin on canister on the scrutineering pad at a race meeting. Tres embarrassing…and no, not me.
