On some models. SS Jaguars excepted.
I guess I will need to strip my hinges very carefully. I don’t see any evidence of chrome under the paint, just brass.
I think it might just be the barrel that is left as chrome. Each of the photos above are of separate cars photographed when new.

I guess my email glitch has been sorted by Gunnar so I should return to my lowly XJ-S forum. LOL.
I’ll think of another question soon and will return here once again for some more info.
I wouldn’t mind if someone here maybe can start a new post and show some more pictures of these awesome vehicles, even in various states of repair or restoration. I for one would be very interested.
