I am just rebuilding a steering box , to change over in the winter with one on the car , as a seal is weeping on it .
Went to put the new seal in and its too big
Seal come from SNG , part number 6415 , , numbers on the new seal are
0.75 1.25 0.25
old seal has no numbers !
SNG are looking in to it , anyone else had this problem ?
I bought mine from a local company, measured the shaft od in front of me, cheaper and quicker than to wait for a supplier to figure out why the one in their kits are wrong?
May end up doing that , but not free to do so till Monday , SNG can’t sale a part that don’t fit , it’s just frustrating to have to stop the job because of bad parts !
me to, as a benefit, sometimes much better quality seals are available.
this was the case for the output shaft seals in the diff, I purchased “double-lip viton”
they were about twice the price, but you really dont want a leak there
