Stop/Tail/Flasher lamp hardware

The screws that attach my rear stop/tail/flasher lamp assemblies to the body have gone missing. In my spare parts catalog it indicates a 1/2" and a 1" screw and has a part number:

BD.20092/2 Screw, Set 1/2" long, securing Stop/Tail/Flasher lamps
and
BD.20092/6 Screw, Set 1" long, securing Stop/Tail/Flasher lamps

Does anyone know if there is any sort of cross reference for these part numbers that would tell me exactly what this screw should look like? I “think” I remember it being a slotted fine thread screw with the head being somewhat thick, similar to this: http://xks.com/i-7086528-jaguar-screw-10-unf-bd-3539-2.html?ref=search:http%3A%2F%2Fxks.com%2Fsearch-3.html%3Fq%3DScrew

Depends, if I recall, on what Series you have. I stand to be corrected but earlier cars featured pozidriv heads and later cars slots.

I’m 99% sure that what came out when I took it all apart years ago were just plain slotted head. After some digging around on the internet I ran across these: https://www.mscdirect.com/product/details/67422121 (called fillister head). My car is a 67 Series one and seems to have this type of screw in several places. These that I’m linking to are #10-32 UNF (fine thread). Can anyone confirm that the screw that holds the lamp assy to the body is a #10 or might it be smaller?

Those look like what’s on my '68. They will be fine thread for sure and probably #10. Easy enough to figure that out on your own, though.

Nick,

I believe it’s the other way around. My car has slotted screws but thought later cars had pozidrive. Replacement fixtures I bought after 1980 had pozidrive screws, for example. I can’t find any documentary evidence of that though, today.

Jerry

Correcr Jerry. Pozidriv came later.

I stand corrected! When was the changeover? Mine are obviously wrong.

Dunno Nick. Ask someone into concours. I think you’ve got the club-that-shall-not-be-named’s judging guide haven’t you?

Pete

Yes I do, Pete.

p. 23 of the JCNA Model Year ‘68 E-type Judges’ Guide

“FRONT TURN SIGNAL/RUNNING LIGHT LENS: Same as late Series 1 E-types
Clear retained by chrome plated Posidrive screws”

(rimshot)

Canadian cars had amber lenses, however.

Just to be clear - I’m not talking about the screws that affix the lenses to the light fixture. I’m talking about the screws that affix the light fixture to the car body.

Just and fyi…the original fixtures on my '68 have pozidrive screws
Nick.

The ones you don’t see? Whatever works.

For what it’s worth, mine on both 69 models were slotted And, no, I’m not positive they were all original.
