I am fitting the CJ vented wilwood kit to the front of my car and need to refurbish the rears. Anyone have any thoughts as to what would be the best setup? [E-Type] swapping the Front calipers to the rear

I’ve heard several posts regarding the swap. I just bought Wilwoods and will be attempting this. The question is: Does the main body of the front caliper actually bolt the the rear? Is it the complete Front assembly WITH front pads as well? Are the front and rear pads the same? Am I simply removing the inner workings of the front calipers and putting them into the body of the rear calipers? Can you tell I’m a bit confused?? [E-Type] Question on Wilwood brakes

I have been reading on the forums quite a bit about the Wilwood brakes. What is the advantage in using them----do they stop better than the standard brakes on the Jag. What would be the cost to put them on my '68 and who are the suppliers? I also read that most people move the original front calipers to the rear—why? [E-Type] Wilwoods on Series I

You would ONLY move the 2 1/8" front piston assemblies to the to the existing rear calipers, to replace the 1 3/4" piston assemblies. The brake pads (square ones) are the same front and rear. The parking brake attachment is unique to the rear caliper castings only. The larger pistons SHOULD give more umph to the rears, and result in a more balanced front/rear braking effect with the larger Wilwoods. Suspect that at speed, the Wilwoods under hard pedal would lock up the fronts before the rear…
