Can you help? I cant seem to get the steering column to move up. In other words towards the roof (rather than towards me)

It`s a 1996 and you deduced the problem. Thanks. , The solution was a combination of playing with the control on the column and pressing the memory seat buttons. . Like the old joke "When all else fails read the manual.
