Wow, you’re right, AC Delco 214-552 is what I bought easily three years ago, now I cannot find it anywhere. That’s strange, I wonder if it’s just part of the manufacturing shortage post-Covid lockdowns.
Wells PV132 shows up as interchangeable valve, it is available at Autozone.

Id think for the $36 id try popping the old one open first though 
She really blasted me at fill-up today … 
(I forgot to leave her fuel cap loose last time I put it on 
). So, is this valve what is also called the “purge valve” on the car (e.g. Bosch)? The one in the pics here though doesn’t look quite like the one I see for sale on Ebay … 
In the xk8’s diagram its listed as the “fuel tank pressure control valve”. I dont know exactly what the “proper term” on the xjs was. Again, id try pulling it out, opening it up, cleaning it out first. More than likely it just has dirt blocking the holes
