Hi folks, is there any way to check out if and how well a DB10 turn signal unit works while it’s on the bench. My car is too far away from being able to check it out in situ and I have several of them so I thought I’d see if it’s possible to vet them. Any help would be appreciated.
Let’s see if I can give you the complete test. With it just sitting there, pins 3, 5 and 7 should be connected. Pins 8 and 4 should each measure some resistance (10 to 20 ohms?) to ground. Pins 1, 2 and 6 should not be connected to anything. If you apply 12V between pin 8 and ground, pins 1, 6 and 7 should be connected together, 5 and 3 should be connected together and to nothing else, and pin 2 should be isolated. If you apply 12V between pin 4 and ground, pins 1, 2 and 3 should be connected together, pins 5 and 7 should be connected together and pin 6 should be isolated.
Brian,
As a supplement to Mike’s excellent reply, I recently posted a schematic of the internals of the DB10. You can find it if you look at the topic headed Brake Lights and Rear Directionals not working.

Thanks very much to both of you. These help a lot.

Here is the thread from October when we discussed the DB10.
