Treasure or Junk?

I am guessing junk. These look like JC Whitney helper springs to me, but before sending them to the dump I thought I would confirm that these springs aren’t some special Jaguar part. They were taken off my 1956 XK 140 MC.

Okay. Its been more than 24 hours, more than 70 experts have looked at the post, and no one has commented. I think that signifies that these springs are junk. Or maybe they were an early version of coil overs. Either way, they are out of here. I need the shelf space.

never seen anything like it not genuine jaguar
like to better overall pic of item to see how they are completely fitted.
sometimes nice to keep souvenirs of period accessories particularly if they can be found in a catalog

Just hesitating in case there was a better “racing expert”.
It looks like the sort of thing that racers would put on when they didn’t like the original leaf springs. One chap called Plastic Fantastic Pearson who raced an extensively modified XK120DHC in the 1970s comes to mind.

Just looks like to me, an early idea for coil overs. Definitely not any Jaguar thing I’ve ever see .

I wouldn’t toss the perches: bet some hot rodder, somewhere will buy’em!
