Updated Teflon front seal and timing chain question

Is there a groove in the end of the crankshaft? I can see where the seal rides, can you catch a nail in it?

Looks pretty clean on the inside, a lot cleaner than the '86 and the '74.

No there is not a grove! Pretty clean. I polished the outer piece itโ€™s so very slight finger nail donโ€™t catch like the other two i have i think itโ€™s ok. I noticed the other outer piece that the Teflon seal rode on it actually has three groves.there are 3 seals in one looks like on the Teflon seal!

I have two Series 3 oil filter heads and pumps fitted to '62 and '72 XK6 engines. All my engine builder did was weld up the cam feed hole in the diecasting on the Series 3 filter heads - still use the block feed on the lower left hand side. All good. Paul.
