Hello Tim,

I remember my father telling me “The Lord hates a coward”, but then, he
never owned an XJ-S!

I can say that it is very satisfying to get ALL of the systems working
properly in this car, with an eye constantly
open for improvements.

Ask questions on this list, and the XJ-S list, somebody will help.

Search for: CENTRIFUGAL ADVANCE - SEIZING and start reading there. It’s on
page 102 in my edition. Then go to the begining of the Ignition section
since you might as well check the vacuum advance & retard at the same time
as the mechanical. You’ll do us all a favour if you measure the free length
of the thicker spring and report it, especially if yours was not fully
extended when it seized.

I’ll be measuring and reporting on a new E-Type V12 dizzy this weekend. It
won’t help me personally as I’ve got an HE but it all adds to the database.
