[v12-engine] new design for EFI injector harness routing

I have worked with Scott who makes the replacement V12 EFI
injector harnesses to design a new routing for the harness.
The original factory harness mounting ran the injector
harness from the right front wheel well under the Air pump,
up to the bottom side of the AC compressor, and then run
along the bottom of the vee of the engine. It originally
secured along the bottom center of engine vee to the bolts
holding the distributor jackshaft cover down. This is the
cover for the galley in the center of the vee of the engine
between the two cylinder heads where the throttle tower and
distributor attach. In the original harness design the
shortest leads were for the front cylinders (1A and 1B)
since they were closest to where the harness came onto the
engine.

Our altered design runs the harness from the same plug
location at the front of the right wheel well back to the
right hand strut brace. The harness crosses over to the back
of the engine along this strut brace to the area behind the
throttle tower, under the air balance pipe on the later HE
cars. Thus with the new design the shortest injector leads
are instead the back two cylinders (6A and 6B). Instead of
securing the injector harness down in the lower part of the
vee where it is going to pick up lots of engine heat and not
much cooling air flow, we secured the harness to the top of
the intake manifold, outside the fuel rail. I have uploaded
some drawings of the original verses the modified harness
routing as well as some photos of Scott’s harness mounting
system to the top of the intake manifold.

Steve,

The design and concept look great! This should have been done long ago! When I recently replaced this harness on an XJS I brought the harness in from the same place but wire-tied it to the fuel rail in order to keep it out of death valley!

Great Job!

I screwed up the diagram for the updated modified harness
slightly so I created a different drawing to show the
harness runs located outside of the fuel rail and injectors
instead of inside. Here is that updated diagram:

Hi Steven A good mod for injection cable run .I always thought
that they where positioned badly for heat transfer.By the way what
have you got there for an ignition coil looks very non standard to
