But recall that the oil gets circulated through the so
called cooler after it has had a chance to be cooled off in
the pan, thus effectively negating that portion of the
circulation cycle.
Why? The coolant is cooler than the oil anyway, and who’s to say whether it
goes to the cooler before or after it is in the sump in a circular system?
(Chicken or egg).
The extra capacity alone will help cooling.
Anyway, I have also seen aftermarket coolers mounted under the front wings,
and in the boot.
