[v12-engine] Stalls when manoeuvring (warm)

Hello:
My 87 VDP V12 has a bad habit of stalling when warm during
manoeuvring in tight spots like parking lots. She also seems slow
to start when cold (ie: takes a lot of turns with the starter and
then begins to fire sluggishly) Once she’s running she runs fine
until I need to manoeuvre between forward and reverse (engine temp
88-90). Then she’ll stall several times before I can get her to
want to get moving again.

Any ideas where I should start troubleshooting? Thanks for any
light you can shed.

What’s your idle speed? I’ve had cars set too low and the extra
drain of the power steering pump when maneuvering at idle would
cause the engine to stall. Not on the V12 Jag though. Just an
idea. What’s the condition of the general tune of the engine? You
might just need to freshen it up a little with new plugs and such.–

My idle speed is as it should be. 1000rpm cold and about 750 rpm
warm. She could do with new plugs and a clean-up of the injectors
though. I plan to do this once the insurance runs out in a couple
of weeks. I’ll let you know the results.
