[v12-engine] terminology question

i have lurked on this list for a while trying to learn while figuring out –
once i am back in the workforce – if i want a v-12 xj-s or a 3.6 or 4.0.
what is an intake runner? i am unfamiliar with the term and see a discussion
of discoloration in or on said runner. my uninformed guess would be the
individual tubes of the intake manifolds. off line responses are fine. i
don’t want to clog up the list with something that may be elemental to
others,

thanks.

You got it! The runners are those ‘tubes’.–

Eliot ,

Most of this stuff is elementary to a few, but beyond comprehension
to the rest of us!

Ed-
At least we’re dealing with real words here- not like the tons of acronyms that are invented daily.
I live with CIWG, FTPM, FPS, FRACAS, ILVS, SQDCME, 3MIS, blah, blah blah. I’d make a fortune if I invented a
pocket Franklin translator for all of this stuff! It seems like we purposely avoid KISS, why not just say what we
mean, instead of adding another cog in the definition wheel?–
