[v12-engine] V12 differences

Hi folks
I am looking at a couple of parts cars for an 87 XJ 12.
Can anyone summarize the key engine compartment
differences between an 82 xj12 and my 87 and also an 86
xjs and my 87?
Thanks!

I will chime in on limited knowledge, but have rebuilt two
V12s, and am currently on my 3rd.
AFAIK, the engines are pretty much identical except for oil
pans, oil pick ups when you say key engine componants.–

Thanks For your response Gene
So items like the ignition system, fuel inj, vacuum system
would all be set up the same.
Cheers

Before 88 yes. Marelli was introduced in 89 and ran through
the end of production on the XJS, however the Nippendenso
ignition was put on the XJ12 sometime in 94 I believe.–
