Did the threaded rods not want to climb off the head studs from the rotation of the studs?

The tool I used had short tubes that went over the stud and tool to keep them aligned.

I used nuts entered far enough onto the bottom of the bolts sitting on the studs to leave a lip and hence preventing the bolts from slipping off the studs.
