[v12-engine] V12 mileage

William: I have owned several V12 Vanden Plas sedans (never sold in the US,
so you know these are Canadian cars). I typically can get up to 26 mpg on
the highway (and yes, the computers in all Jaguars EXCEPT for US models, are
in Imperial gallons and metric), or 11.5 litres consumption per 100 km. The
figures are actually better at 90 kmph than at 60!

Wow!! You actually get more with the sedan then I with a coupe … a
bit
surprised there since I’d figured I’d be a bit lighter and maybe even a
bit more
aerodinamical (?) … true that it fares better at 90 … even decent
a bit
above that

Did you do anything particular to it to get such good mileage? I don’t
know
what plugs I’ve on it yet (no need to check for a while) but I might
plan on
bringing colder air even if I don’t cut-up and enlarge the intakes right
away
(do want to keep it as original as possible).–
