[v12-engine] V12 US spec air cleaners and induction manifold

Hi Folks
Im rebuilding the carbs on my '73 US spec etype roadster but
someone has been there before…

I have two separate questions that I would be very grateful
to get answered.I have posted this on the etype forum but
got no replies…admittedly it aint the most interesting
of questions…

Firstly the two pairs of aluminium castings in the air
cleaner c37389/90(that are connected to the carbon
cannister) appear to fit together very badly. A previous
owner has glued one of these together but the other is very
gappy. Could anyone tell me how they work and how well they
should fit together?

Secondly the RH induction manifolds are connected together
by small bore rubber tubes to a T-piece. The T then leads
across towards the LH carbs where its been inexpertly
blanked off. Could anyone please tell me where this tube
should be connected?
(the LH inlet manifolds are similarly connected together and
are tubed to the temperature sensor unit in the air cleaner)

Thank you

Dear David,

Get yourself a Parts Manual and you can then see where all of the
hoses go.

That is probably why you didn’t get a reply on the UK forum -
either that or not including a real name. Do appreciate there isn’t
much if anything in it for the respondents if the original lister
isn’t posing an interesting question, wants to be anonymous and
have something for nothing, or doesn’t first help themselves.

In this case, it is much harder to explain stuff than to simply
look it up, either in the tan coloured Jaguar Owners Manual, the
big white Parts Book or on the web via the millions of pictures and
posts altready answering this question all over the web.

If you use the search function on this site, both for text and the
photo albums, you’ll realise that this has already been answered
many times before.

No hard feelings.

kind regards
