[v12-engine] XJS HE Twin Coil Question

Are the twin coils on my 1981 XJS HE V12 5.3lt the same for the
main and aux. I have a Jaguar CD telling me the part# is 35C6 (2
off) but cant locate this number. On a differen thread I read that
part # DAC2692 and DAC2693 are correct for the HE model. The 2692
is available on Ebay but the 2693 is not ? Any help to put this
matter to rest appreciated–

Dear Anon,

Electrically speaking, they are the same item, but one of them
doesn’t have anywhere to put the king lead.

kind regards

The secondary coil, the one in front of the rad, has the HT terminal
plugged with epoxy. Hence, it has a different part number. You can
replace BOTH coils with generic bottle-shaped (oil cooled) ignition
coils with a primary impedance of around 1.2 ohms. Such coils are
very common and very cheap, like less than $20 each. For the
secondary, just fill up the HT terminal with epoxy, or silicone, or
something else similarly insulating.

Thanks Marek @ Kirbert

I understand now ie

Part # DAC2692 is a Jaguar number
Part # DLB170 is a Lucas number
Part # 11791 is a Standard number

I also forgot about the Aux. coil redundant hole to be
plugged but in my case I have the black rubber boot covering
that area and will also plug it up with silicone. Both coils wll
be 1.2 ohm primary indepandence.
