Body/Paint : 8/10 The car was repainted sometime in the 2000s. The paint has held up well and it is still very presentable, but there are paint chips (which were touched up). The body itself is 100% solid and straight. Minor surface rust noted on the undercarriage.

Interior : 8/10 The interior is in nice original shape. Headliner and carpets are good. Dash top is not cracked. Wood trim is complete and not cracked, but has faded to different degrees. The auto climate control system functions correctly… all of the vacuum flaps and the multi speed fans work as they should. However, there is currently no pressure in the A/C system. Rather than saying “It probably just needs some gas”, you should assume this will need some work to bring it back to life.

Mechanical : 9/10 This is where I spent most of the effort on this car. The car starts easily, hot or cold. Idles and runs smoothly at all speeds. The transmission shifts crisply and the car is responsive.

Driving : The car drives and handles very well as I have replaced what was needed to return the handling to original level.

Opportunities for improvement :
A/C repair as mentioned above

Minor body dings

Hood insulation pad is worn

Grill mounted “V12” emblem is worn.

Tires are old, would recommend replacing them soon. They have plenty of tread and are round with no vibrations, but they are out of date range.

The driver seat is starting to wear in the usual places.

Summary : What has been done is all of the difficult, fiddly, tribal knowledge intensive things that can plague a V12 XJ-S, so you would have a very good base to continue to improve over time. You are not going to find any horrible surprises with this car. This is a very good condition daily driver, but is not a show car. You can drive it and enjoy it today and if inclined, spend time to bring it further up to show standard. This is a great opportunity to get one that is well sorted and actually works. Offered for sale with a clean Arizona title and repair records.
