Slight mistake with the engine as that is still the AJ6.

Also hardly highest spec, no sunroof etc, it ain’t no VDP/Daimler and bodywork needs attention. Corrosion on all aluminum components under hood. It’s Ok but nothing special - mileage not bad but personally not a fan of machines left idle for 10+ years, especially XJ40’s.
yeh you are right by close look i see corrosion and other defects.maybe i was too enthausiastic.
Looks like a money pit to me, the rust breaking out will be far worse once you start probing, and like Larry pointed out 10+ years standing is about the worse thing you can do to an XJ40.
Just a hunch but I’m guessing the guy who bought it was new to Jags and definitely not a member of our forum.
