Thank you for your advice
I am not sure how I insulted you
All I mentioned is that it is out of my price range And said nothing more
To elaborate , I have found one locally in Toronto for $ 300 so why would I spend $1000
Further, I have been contacted by others and again much lower than your price
What would you do other than to tell you that your price is too high for me
I only wish you the best , I am sure there will be someone else that would pay you $1000 for the crank
All the best
Mark
Slightly off topic, but did the S Type ever come with a 4.2l motor?
What’s the seal difference? They had scrolls to the end of production. Was it something else?
Pete
IIRC, doesn’t the area where the scrolls are, have to be machined smooth, to accept a modern split, lipped seal?
We’re discussing 4.2s and the right crank is not a 4.2 presumably as it looks like pre-rope seal arrangement? I don’t recall seeing one like that in an E or XJ but maybe???
Yes the scroll has to be machined off for a lip seal but the OP didn’t ask about that IIRC
Peter, you are quite correct the crankshaft shown on the right of my picture is not for a 4.2 engine.
Mark,
I have 2 cranks here, both standard size, in St Catharines. $250 each.
Good luck with your Jag
Rob
