You know - “Drop the wrench and step away from the car”.
Pre-COVID, Tucson E-Type owners met every Monday morning to work on their cars. The group included Marv and other J-L members. We had to cease and desist with the onset of the pandemic.
Now you see what happens when we try to work on the E-Type with no support or even adult supervision.

Yeah, pulling that engine probably would have been worthwhile.
Forget a vaccine, the best medicine is a long day and a full tool kit. And when the gumption trap hits (Zen), I grab a few smaller components to recondition. I always find that screws and nuts and a set of taps and dies allows me to refocus when problems threaten to stop progress. Clean, re-thread, wire brush any scale and then a minute or two in the nickel plating bath. Works wonders. Then back to the bigger problem.
