My wife is happy, she has informed me that I now have my christmas present and she does not need to do anything. New daytons arrived today…16x6
I bought a refrigerator; mine died.
(BTW, nice wheels!)
I wrote Santa and told him to bring me a paint job in maybe January or Feb.
Lucas?
…
Wow! Fantastic wife!
–Drew
Agreed. I would have received one wheel a year for 4 years (the installment plan…)
And aren’t you are already down a wheel from this year’s Oil Leak? Talk to Santa. And maybe he can stuff an OTS in your stocking while he’s at it.
–Drew
True enough! Santa already delivered a replacement soon after we got home in October. He was happy to deliver early to avoid the Christmas rush… I think the red OTS might be a stretch though, even for Santa…
You know, if we had our radios on I could have sent out a warning about that big rock. I just barely missed it. It must have fallen right before we got to that point in the road. The radios help as long as they are used judiciously.

If it is a Lucas it should be sufficient to tidy up or tin the bullet connectors and service or change the switchgear. Paul
With half a dozen cars/radios I agree that they had some benefits. With 20, I suspect that it might require more discipline than we could muster… With that rock in the road I think that each car saw it slightly later than car in front, as the preceding car hid it from view. So, the evasive maneuvers became increasingly dramatic, until someone (me) inevitably hit it. We were all fortunate that there was no traffic in the other direction at the time. Of course, as you no doubt heard, much of the rock wall came down a little later, and some of our group were held up as they cleared the road of table-sized boulders. Lucky no-one was hit by one of them… [Apologies for the thread diversion]
I bought the IRS carrier and fulcrum bearings and seals, shocks for 2 of 3 IRS rebuilds I know that I need to do. the other 5 I’m afraid to look.
Beautiful Dayton’s. What size? 15" or did you step up to 16?
reminds me of an eventful day at Limerock where the stone was an unfortunate Bugeye.
A clutch and pressure plate, syncro rings and seals, motor mounts, a growing pile of gaskets, water pump just 'cause it’ll be accessible, stainless exhaust system…
Y’know… Christmas stuff.
A stretch? Maybe if he delivered it in pieces?
LL…, ummmm, Joe
“What terrifies religious extremists like the Taliban are not American tanks or bombs or bullets, it’s a girl with a book.”
Malala Yousafzai
I was right up front at that point. As far as we were spread out, it may have not helped due to the radios limited transmission distance.

Yes, that was an unusual situation, but when we hear the roar of your radio intro, Lloyd, we know it’s important stuff.
–Drew
…now that I think about it…
the use of the radio would have saved Davids wheel in this case… and most of us from some uneven evasive wear on the sides of our front tires…

Dayton assured me 16x6 would fit with no modifications, so 16’s it is.
Happy to report: not a single car-related thing!
…yet…
