My 1997 XK8 was hit in the front. I found a bumper assembly from a 2003 for a good price. Will a 2003 bumper assembly fit on a 1997? It looks like the changes are only cosmetic-I don’t mind if it looks like a 2003, but I need to be sure it will fit.

Hi Scott,
I have a 97 with the original plastic front cover and an 02 with the newer version. I can not say for certain if they are interchangeable but I bet they are. I’m surprised no one else has weighed in on this one. This forum hasn’t been the same since they change to the format. Hope it works out. Let us know what you end up doing.

Hi, Bob, and thanks for the note! Can you see any difference in your cars as to the bumper apron, or fender wells, or the bolt set up for attachment to the frame? I have a sense that a later bumper assembly will bolt to a 97 car without difficulties, and I’ve found one in nice shape, but I obviously don’t want to buy it and pay for shipping only to find out it won’t work.
