Wiper motor not working

  • have a 2003 X-Type I have been restoring for about three years now, and I’m having an issue with the wiper motor not working all of a sudden. If I put a ground jumper on the wiper transmission they will work but not without. I checked all the wiring from the control switch to the motor it self and nothing is amiss with the wiring as I can tell. Has anyone had or heard of this issue before and what could be the cause ? *

If grounding it makes the wiper motor work, then the problem is downstream from the motor. Check the ground.

Thank you, I found that the ground spots were corroded and the battery was at 10 volts. fixed all than and now it works great. Just always like a second opinion.

Now that the wipers are fixed, you are in for a long drought. Happy motoring.
