I have this Wiper motor but it has an extra electrical plug that I have not seen before, I would like to know the extra plugs purpose and I would like to ad a photo if I knew how on this forum.

The motor is controlled by the stalk switch - which is the usual source of problems…

No there is not a problem with it that I know of, I am fitting this wiper into another different sort of car.
So I just would like to know what the other electric plug is for.

what model is the motor from & do you have the diagram for it
I don’t know and no I don’t have a diagram, I bought it on the net.
are you doing the hot rod transplant? looks like a motor from an XJ6 series 2
Just to expand, Bill - the Jaguar stalk switch, when turned to ‘off’, reverse the polarity to the motor - reversing its direction. This reversal is mecessary for the self park to work - and, depending on the your set-up; the extra connector may relate to that…?
Never saw that extra connector on the ‘our’ Jaguars, nor does it appear in the wiper wiring diagrams. Are you sure it relates to the wipers?

Thank you for explaining the stalk switch , that will come in useful I think.
Well that’s why I asked the question on the extra plug as I had never seen one before either.
It is part of the wiper motor so I can only presume it has to do with the wiper somehow.
I might have to clean of the fabric covering and check the wire colours, maybe that will tell me something.

Yes I am using the wiper motor into a 46 Ford Convertible.
I had a XJ6 series 2 and the wiper did not have extra plug on it.
