[x-type] Check Engine Light after New Stereo Head Unit

I just called the local road shop who is installing my stereo to
check on their progress.

‘‘The car is done and everything works fine. By the way, the check
engine light is coming on now…’’

Didn’t do anything really hokey, but I believe he had to remove the
AC unit as an assembly with the old cassette player, etc…

Does anybody have any experience with this? Any ideas what could
have gone wrong?

By the way… love the x-type. Pleased on all points… Go Jaguar!

I had a similiar problem years ago on a different vehicle.
The audio shop accidentally spliced into the airbag wiring
to get the ‘‘power on’’ signal to a new amplifier. Sounds like
you may have a similiar problem.–

A few hours after I took delivery of my X-Type the engine light
came on. In my case it was a wire that went loose under the plastic
engine cover. The dealer spotted in less than 10 minutes, replugged
the wire… No light ever since.–
