Sadly my 1995 X300 sovereign has come to the end of its
economical life.
Last Friday the airco pump said goodbye whilst making a lot
of noise.
I need to repair a right rear wheel arch, the left has been
done two years age together with both front fenders.
But more serious is the MOT warning for rust holes in the
top where the left shock damper is mounted.
All in all it would cost some 3200.- USD to fix. To much for
an 18 year car.
So, now I am looking to buy a X-type, scale down a bit so to
speak.
I hate to see her go, she was a good friend and never let me
down.–

I can see where this is an inevitable conclusion for some
cars in Britain with the MOT rules, but over here in the
arid areas of America, it pains me to see some really nice
X300’s getting parted out.
Don’t forget about all the possibilities for making
furniture out of it too - like a couch made of the trunk area…
Or like the table on Top Gear - clear glass over an engine
block.–

Jeeez man I hate see a good guy go down.
But anything than an X-type…that’s not areal Jaguar…
I rhink rthere is more rthan one way of rescuing this if you think
about it.
Last taps and all that, I still say the Pheonix will rise from the
ashes.

OK Gentlemen,
Today I bought a X-type, 2006 MY, 2.5L Executive.
108000 Kilometers.
I will take possession next Wednesday and will leave my 1995
X300 behind.
This list has helped me finding solutions to small problems
with my car.
I managed to find the Not Cont fault and could help others.
Maybe the moderator can copy relevant data from my web site.
I will leave the X300 pages there for some time.
